Kosovo has used the euro (EUR) as its official currency since 2002, replacing the German mark. Although it is not a member of the European Union and has no formal agreement with the European Central Bank, the euro was unilaterally adopted as a stable means of payment.
1 euro is divided into 100 cents. The word “cent” comes from the Latin “centum,” meaning one hundred.
